We are the UBC Bookstore, owned and operated by the University of British Columbia, where proceeds support student services, facilities and research. The largest academic bookstore in Western Canada, we have been providing course materials and lifestyle essentials required by the University, life-long learners and the community at large since 1917.
While we are known primarily as a bookstore, we provide many products and services, including technology and IT help, clothing, giftware and furniture. We provide inspiration and act as a community hub, because we are central, established and give back to UBC's community. Everyone is welcome!
UBC Bookstore Vancouver and Okanagan
Our UBC Bookstores Vancouver and Okanagan (which became part of the family in 2005) provide five choices of academic course materials, general books, computers (at educational pricing), accessories and phones, official UBC clothing and giftware, as well as school/office supplies. We also run a popular discount book club.
In addition, we provide office supplies for UBC departments through the corporate express EWAY online. Services such as special orders, custom products and office furniture are also available.
Additional services unique to the Point Grey community include the UBC carding office, an IT help desk and charging station, plaza rentals, a relax lounge and a coffee shop.
UBC Bookstore Robson Square
Established in November of 2001, we are located at the UBC Robson Square campus in downtown Vancouver. We are a satellite location of the UBC Bookstore, located in Point Grey.
In support of the courses and activities of UBC Robson Square, we provide requested academic materials. Our professional book section includes medical eeference, law and commerce.
Additionally, we stock the UBC Bookstore’s best selling fiction and non-fiction (at discounted prices), UBC clothing, diploma frames, giftware and Canadian souvenirs. UBC Bookstore gift certificates are available.
For customer convenience, there are regularly scheduled transfers to and from the UBC Bookstore at the Vancouver (Point Grey) campus store to our Robson location.
Founded in 2002, the Robson Reading Series is a free bi-monthly event that hosts established and emerging Canadian writers.The UBC Bookstore, in cooperation with the UBC Library at Robson Square, is pleased to host a dynamic selection of authors whose poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction works expand our knowledge of writing through distinct approaches to style, subject, and form.
As a university, a centre for learning, it is our intention to foster the next generation of writers by providing them with a welcoming space to present their works to the community. All of our events are a combination of readings, conversation, and mingling.
